Linda – communication manager at WIT Berry
Linda is a digital communication manager with more than 10 years of experience. Before creating her own digital communication company WIT Berry, Linda was a co-owner of a software development company and before that she worked as a marketing manager for a vehicle dealer in Latvia.
One of her personal achievements is publishing a book about copywriting in Latvia. It is the first and, so far, only book written and published in Latvian about copywriting for the web.
Linda and space
As a communication manager and content strategist in a small country I didn’t really have a chance to specialize in one sector, so I quickly had to pick up new things about different domains: insurance, automobiles, telecommunications, logistics, construction, etc. Learning new things about the space sector is also exciting. It opens new perspectives. Besides this, I’ve always been interested in the space domain itself.
Before HATCH I participated in some small projects to get more familiar with this domain. Then, Ed Chester from Catena Space saw an opportunity to create a consortium by including WIT Berry. It was a great opportunity for me and my employees to enlarge our skill set and experience. Of course, it has also been a big challenge. But as we know, development and improvement happen outside our comfort zone.
What do you like the most about the space sector?
I really like the fact that it is becoming more accessible. It’s no longer just scientists and engineers who make up the space community. People who are new to space bring new ideas and perspectives and vice versa. The space sector is becoming more and more popular.
Your first memory of HATCH…
I was thinking: “Sounds like a fantastic challenge! What do we need to do to get started? When do we start?” I quickly did research on what’s happening in this domain, what the trends are, I did a keyword analysis and so on… I was trying to collect as much information as possible since WIT Berry and I were newcomers in the space sector.
All this information along with my non-space background was very useful in creating a proposal that was meant to stand out from the others.
Will HATCH be useful for stakeholders?
The most important thing is that we’re focusing on stakeholder needs. Therefore, I’m sure that it will turn out even better than stakeholders are expecting.
What is your favourite HATCH feature so far?
I really like the rocket launch idea we have. At the moment it’s just an idea under development, but I think it’s very fun! I know it doesn’t make a lot of sense to you right now. But… wait for the launch of HATCH.

I really like the people that are involved in the project. I wish the project would continue indefinitely... I really feel this great team spirit that transcends our backgrounds and cultural differences.
